Tequila Lime Chicken Tacos

This tequila lime marinade is packed with flavor. Once cooked and topped with Chili Lime Goat Cheese, these tacos will be your new favorite recipe.

Chicken Marinade:

  • 2 TB silver tequila
  • 1 TB garlic, minced
  • 2 TB cilantro, finely chopped
  • 2 TB Shallot, finely chopped
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp chili Powder
  • ½ tsp onion Powder
  • 2 TB extra virgin olive oil
  • Juice from half a lime
  • ½ tsp lime zest
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 lb. chicken breasts, cut into strips

For the tacos:


  1. Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Add the chicken to marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  2. Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking.
  3. Preheat a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken and the marinade to the pan. Cook the chicken for 5 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Marinade will reduce.
  4. In a dry, warm skillet heat the tortillas until warm.
  5. Assemble tacos with arugula, chicken, Chili Lime Goat Cheese, and cilantro.
